About What About Tours

A team of local guides who walk Rome with visitors every day.

We are a walking tour company based in Rome. Every day our guides take visitors through the city and tell them what happened there.

We started with free walking tours, and with up to 15 free-tour departures a day we know what it takes to bring groups and guides together. Our guides are local, and they tell stories: who was poisoned, who was murdered, why there are turtles on a fountain.

That experience is the base for everything else we offer: guided visits with skip-the-line access, private tours, group services for partners and an AR city guide.

Our guests have left 11,581 ratings, and the average is 4.90 out of 5. Read the reviews.

How our free tours work

There is no ticket price. You book a spot online, meet the guide at the meeting point and walk. At the end you give the guide what you think the tour was worth. Our guides work for tips.

Groups are small, usually 15 to 25 people, so everyone can hear and ask questions. Tours run in English and Spanish, and each route has its own page with the meeting point, the itinerary and the available times.
