This was a great tour. Max was energetic and very knowledgeable. Besides a lot of history lessons it had great views of landmarks of the city from not so crowded places, which was specially good. Wonderful idea to have a tour at these time of the day to beat the crowds.

An excellent experience. Daniel our guide provided a detailed, fun, informative presentation. This tour, being in Rome, does have some stairs, and bumpy pavements, I would not advise this tour for someone who has a physical disability.

The tour “Free Walking Tour of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome by Night” exceeded my expectations. Max brought history to life with a perfect mix of humor, thoughtful commentary, and engaging storytelling – you could clearly sense his background in Cultural Studies, but in the best possible way! Witty, insightful, and truly entertaining. He spoke so clearly and loudly that we could understand everything without a headset – which actually made the experience feel more personal and enjoyable than many of the pricey tours with an earpiece. Max was open to questions at any time and led the tour with such ease and enthusiasm that, for the first time ever, I actually felt a bit sad when it ended. Thank you, Max – and a big thanks to the Free Walking Tour team as well. Best city tour I’ve ever taken!

Jacob was terrific, warm friendly funny amd most importantly very knowledgeable and his English was perfect

We really enjoyed our walk with Jacopo ( I am sorry if I got his name wrong ). We were shown where Julius Caeser was murdered. On the way to the Forum, we passed Basillica of Santa Maria. The timing was perfect, we saw sunset at the Forum. And by the time we reached the Colosseum, the sun was about to set but the lights in the Colosseum were already on, which made the day to night transition so smooth. Our guide was such a good story-teller that even the 2 little girls in our group were so enchanted by his stories that they were walking right behind him in full attention :)

Jake from Italy not State Farm was great. He was very thoughtful and intelligent. He had a great sense of humor and really made an effort to connect Rome with us. Very nice tour.
