We really enjoyed our tour with Ivan. Ivan's tour was informative, engaging, and entertaining. We highly recommend.
Ivan is a wonderful storyteller weaving biography, history and art knowledge into an engaging narrative of both mystery and enlightenment of Caravaggio’s legacy. Highly recommended!
The tour was crafted brilliantly! The ratio of distance covered and historical context was perfect and the guru (Ivan) wrapped the experience with enthusiasm and gravitas kept the group engaged analysing the artwork captivated by Caravaggio's unique life story and techniques. 10 out 10!
Ausgezeichnete Tour, viele interessante Details zum Leben und Werk des Malers Caravaggio. Erfrischende und begeisternde Erzählung durch den Guide.
Simone was fantastic! His passion and enthusiasm really came through. I would highly recommend this tour and Simone to anyone who would be interested in learning a bit about the eventful life of Caravaggio.
Jacopo is such an outstanding guide - very knowledge, attentive and engaging. The tour was very interesting and educational. I wish all guides were as good as Jacopo!
I really enjoyed the tour!
I had really enjoyed, and it was a very nice experience, I highly recommend it if you search something interesting.
Really impressed with Ivan. We did two tours with him in Rome and loved both of them.
From prostitutes posing as the Virgin Mary to murders fuelled by lead poisoning, the tour took us through the dark life of baroque’s bad boy: Caravaggio. It also shed light on the underworld of early modern Roman life, of which Caravaggio was an active participant; a world that inspired his art. The tour was informative, enjoyable, and most importantly, worthwhile. Our guide, Ivan, was excellent, poking fun and exposing both the light and the dark of one of history’s greatest artists.
I highly recommend this tour, even for those who barely recognise the name Caravaggio (and for partners who aren’t into art history at all). Our guide, Jacopo, made the story come to life with humour and history entwined.
A very vivide tour, done by a true professionel guide. Jacobo combines both very deep knowledge and the ability to transport complex information in an easy way.
Very nice tour with Simone. Very interesting stories that take us trough the town about the riddle of who killed caravaggio. A bit sad that the first church was closed due to a movie being shot. I recommend !
Sehr gute Tour! Wir konnten sehr viel Neues lernen und sehen 👍🏼
The tour brings together people who know Caravaggio by name but haven’t necessarily seen his works. Yet even for someone familiar with Caravaggio’s life and who has seen his paintings in various museums in Italy and France, the guide — who studied art history and is both passionate and captivating — shares many fascinating facts. There is extensive research behind all the biographical details. Throughout the tour, the guide shows and explains why Caravaggio left such a mark on the history of painting, while also shedding light on the mystery of his tumultuous life and death.
I was absolutely fascinated by the guide’s charisma and storytelling! It felt like a real performance — a one-man theatre! Everything was so lively, colorful, funny, and deeply engaging. The two hours flew by in an instant. I was completely immersed in the atmosphere of Rome and in the dramatic, passionate life of Caravaggio. It was truly one of the best cultural experiences of my trip!
Fun and engaging. Unfortunately the roads to the French church was closed on that day due to some unannounced political function. But Jacob was ready with photos on hand and explained everything. We went to the church the next day and saw the Caravaggio's paintings.
Jacob was AMAZING from the beginning till the end of tour - you could feel his passion for art as well as deep knowledge - not only dry details about history, but most importantly - spicy personal and social details about the life of Caravaggio. Would repeat again!
