The tour was such a wonderful start to our stay in Rome! We booked it for our very first evening in the city, and Simone managed not only to share a few fascinating facts that even my history-nerded boyfriend didn’t already know, but also sparked our curiosity to learn even more. The tour lasted over two hours, yet the time flew by in an instant. An absolute must for anyone visiting Rome!

I loved this tour so much! Our guide Iri was so lovely and has a good sense of humour so she made it so fun to learn all about Ancient Rome. Overall such a fun experience would recommend to everyone who visits Rome!

We had Simone as our guide for the day and he was absolutely wonderful - friendly, entertaining & brimming with passion for ancient history. Even though we were a big group, he managed to sustain our attention and manage everyone in the crowded streets of Rome. We also loved how this tour was not just fun facts about the attractions - there was a story and it was very enjoyable. Highly recommend :) It is a lot of walking though (2 hours+) so wear comfortable shoes & be prepared to have sore feet!

I had a great time on Ivan’s “Who Killed Caravaggio?” walking tour. Ivan clearly loves the painter, and that passion came through in every stop and story. He managed to pack in tons of fascinating details about Caravaggio’s life and art without it ever feeling like a dry history lesson. Instead, he wove the tumult, mystery, and drama of Caravaggio’s world into the walk in a way that felt like we were piecing together a living, breathing story. The places we visited were so well chosen — each one felt like a perfectly framed backdrop to the narrative he was building. Between the beauty of the works we saw, the streets we wandered, and Ivan’s gift for storytelling, the whole experience was entertaining, engaging, and memorable. If you’re curious about Caravaggio — or just want a lively tour that blends art, history, and intrigue — I can’t recommend this enough. Ivan recommended some books for me to read which I can’t wait to crack into!

I highly recommend booking with Guru. I did 3 different tours on my visit to Rome. All were excellent. Guides are very informative and friendly. Colosseum is beautiful at night. And the area was quite lively
